Gacha Club is a mobile game that is available for iOS or Android users. I have put the Android game through its paces over the last few days and thought I would share my thoughts. Being able to dress up your own anime characters and put them in battles is the basic premise of the game and something that sounded like it could be a lot of fun.

The Game Review
Let me start with the good news and that is there are no in-app purchases with this game! That right there gets a high-five from me! You start by creating your own character and there are tons that you can make. You have all kinds of clothing options, hairstyles, body types, weapons, pets, and so on. So, you can make a truly unique character.
The creation suite in this game is very simple, but you also are able to go into a lot of depth with the way you create your characters. You can create your own scenes with the various backdrops that the game gives you. These are fun and great if you are a bit of an artistic type. There is a “lewd” scene for this game online, but I have never dabbled in that and neither do you if that is not your kind of thing.
The game also has a very basic RPG style battle mode which is both cute and fun. I messed around with this for a little bit and found it to be pretty charming. It does lack depth, but it is a great way to increase the skill level of your character as well as get some cool new stuff as well.
While the actual battling may not be all that in-depth. I liked how there were different variations to the battle mode. You can do the story mode, tower mode, training mode, and shadows of corruption mode and each one offers you a different kind of challenge. I liked the variety here and I found the tower mode to be the most fun.
There are also some mini-games for you to dabble in as well. These range in quality, but I did have some fun with the Mascot Whack mode which is exactly what it sounds like! These help keep you invested and everything that you do in the game feels like it is moving you forward. Either in leveling up or earning something new that you can make use of.
I have to say that the presentation is very cute. I know that the lewd scene that this game has going on is a bit on the creepy side in some people’s minds. However, that is something you have to actively go looking for online so as long as you are keeping your eye on them, your kids will be ok playing this.
One of the biggest surprises for me about Gacha Club was how the game was funded via ads. This means that it never had its hand out asking me for money every two minutes like most mobile games do! You can play it offline, it is actually pretty stacked with content and in all, it is a fun mobile game that is great for whenever you have a spare five minutes or so.
