Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie is the third Paw Patrol movie, and what may seem like a cynical cash grab of a movie to some is actually a fantastic and heartfelt kids movie with just a ton of charm. I thought that the first Paw Patrol movie and its sequel, Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie, were a great deal of fun, and The Dino Movie continues that trend; I would say that this is the best of the bunch so far.

The Movie Review
Fun for Both Kids and Patient Parents
The only downside for this, as far as I go, is that the first movie I saw with my niece and nephew, by the time the second came out, only my nephew wanted to go, and now, they have both aged out of Paw Patrol! However, I will say that if you are a parent or you are taking someone younger to see this, do not be worried. You will have a fun time here, even if you have been made to sit through every episode and the previous two movies a million times before this!
Marshall Takes Center Stage
As the title suggests, this is about our heroic pups and dinosaurs. The movie starts with our team pulling off a rescue at sea, a rescue that leaves Marshall kind of shaken due to a mistake. The previous movie, to me, felt like it was a Skye movie, and she was the main star. This time around, I feel that it is Marshall who gets the best character development and who has a great message for kids to take on board as they are having fun with the movie.
A Prehistoric Island Discovery
After the pups’ rescue at sea, they end up shipwrecked on a strange island where they meet a wheelchair bound pup called Rex, who is friends with dinosaurs who live on this mysterious island! It is so much fun to see the pups get to grips with this and realize that they have made the discovery of a lifetime, and it is decided that they should let the rest of the world know that dinosaurs are still here.
The Return of Mayor Humdinger
Well, this is all good and dandy, but back in Adventure City, Mayor Humdinger is out of jail and has claimed he has changed his ways, which of course is not true! He discovers that a whole bunch of diamonds are on this dinosaur island, and he wants them all, no matter if dinosaurs or anyone else gets hurt in the process. I always think that Mayor Humdinger is such a fun villain for a kids’ series like this.
Heart, Growth, and Gorgeous Animation
Of course, the pups need to save the day, save the dinos, and expose Humdinger for what he is really up to. It is a fun movie that looks great, with gorgeous animation and some really fun scenes. However, it also has a lot of heart, and as I said, Marshall is the one who gets the most character development, and him being shaken by mistakes that he has made and then trying to get his confidence back is something that I think many kids who are watching this will be able to take to heart.
Final Verdict & a 90s Pop Bonus
If your kids like Paw Patrol, they will love Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie! This is a very fun movie, and of course, it has a ton of toys and other merch out there; chances are after seeing this, your kids will be hitting you up for it all! So yes, this could be seen as a cynical way for them to sell toys, but they did actually make a very good movie here. Oh, one more thing. Pop superstars and 90s icons, the Backstreet Boys, made a whole new song for this movie, which I think is pretty fun.
