Seed of Chucky would be the last Chucky movie for over a decade to get a theatrical release. I remember going to see Seed of Chucky in the theatre very well. I was dating the woman who would go on to be my wife. I say to the “lovely” lady behind the movie theatre counter, two for Seed of Chucky please and she looks at me with disgust and says to my future wife, “You want to have a word with him” as if I had dragged her to see Seed of Chucky!

Seed of Chucky: A Movie Review
This is a direct follow on from the events of Bride of Chucky. Tiffany had a baby and this baby was found by a ventriloquist who took him to England. This creepy young doll is simply called Shit Face at first and he has these terrible dreams of murdering people, even though he tries to be good.
He sees Jennifer Tilly on TV (she pulls double duty in this movie) with the Chucky and Tiffany doll and realizes that they are his parents and he sets off to America to find them. He brings Chucky and Tiffany back to life and Chucky wants to call him Glen, but Tiffany insists that he is a girl and calls him Glenda!
Comedy and Confusion in Seed of Chucky
As you have probably already figured out. Seed of Chucky is even more of a comedy than Bride of Chucky. The three of them make this messed up family, but Glen does not want to kill and Tiffany agrees to do so and makes Chucky agree too, which he does, but with his fingers crossed behind his back.
Jennifer Tilly’s Dual Role and the Film’s Eccentric Plot
It is funny how we have Jennifer Tilly voicing Tiffany, but also playing an exaggerated version of herself at the same time. Jennifer Tilly is in a career slump and rapper Redman is making a movie about the Virgin Mary and she tries to seduce him in order to get the main role.
The Wild and Weird World of Seed of Chucky
Chucky and Tiffany have a great idea. They are going to put their souls into the bodies of Redman and Jennifer Tilly and also use Chucky’s sperm to impregnate Jennifer Tilly so that Glen/Glenda can become real too! Yeah, this movie is freaking wild and weird, but it kind of works.
Analyzing the Humor and Horror of Seed of Chucky
Of course, Chucky and Tiffany still end up killing and this slowly drives Glen insane, well that and the fact he does not know if he is a boy or a girl. Seeing his eye twitch and him gradually get crazier and crazier is very well done. However, the whole movie is just one crazy scene to the next and I never feel like it has the same kind of “substance” as the first three Child’s Play movies do.
The humor in some places is great, the scene where Tiffany is pretending to be Jennifer Tilly on the phone, claiming that she is watching Bound always makes me laugh. The killing that happens in the movie is also done in a more over-the-top and slapstick way too such as Chucky and Glen taking a selfie after Glen accidentally kills a dude with acid!
Concluding Thoughts
Seed of Chucky is not a bad movie, but it is one of the weaker ones in the franchise. I think you have to just watch this and go along with the wild and crazy ride if you want to have fun with it. I can fully understand why some people would watch this and think that it is utter garbage, but hey, I sometimes like to watch garbage! On my official Chucky ranking, Seed of Chucky would be the one that props up the bottom of the list.
