I thought that 2019’s Ready or Not was a super fun time! A comedy horror where Samara Weaving has to survive a deadly game of hide and seek against her insane devil-worshiping in-laws… hell yeah! I never in a million years expected that movie to get a sequel, but here we are, and they did not just manage to capture the same magic from the first movie; they made it even better.
Where to Watch Ready or Not 2: Here I Come
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come was released on March 20, 2026. You can stream the film from a digital platform. If you are interested in other films with Samara Weaving, she plays bee in The Babysitter (2017) and The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020), Scarlet in Snake Eyes (2021), Constance Moore in Babylon (2022), or Laura Crane in Scream VI (2023).
The Movie Review
Of course, I watched the trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, but I came into this as blind as possible. I thought that it was very cool how this picks up right after where the first one ended, and I mean right after. Samara Weaving’s Grace has been taken to the hospital, where the detective with her is convinced that she is the one who killed the Le Domas family.
Story
Things get out of hand pretty quickly. Grace’s estranged sister, Faith (who is played by Kathryn Newton), shows up, and before they know it, they are being hunted by a psycho who wants Grace dead. You see, it turns out that Grace surviving her game of Hide and Seek caused a very strange chain reaction.
Turns out that the Los Domas family is not the only ones who were given riches and power by the entity known as Le Bail, and their death means the head position of this cult is up for grabs. This brings in the other Le Bail aided families, most notably the brother and sister duo of Titus and Ursula Danforth, played by Shawn Hatosy and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Being a huge Buffy fan, I always get a kick out of anything that Sarah Michelle Gellar shows up in.
Cast and Characters
The Danforth siblings’ father was the previous leader, and they want the prized ring that comes with all the power to stay in their family. There are a few other families as well, and they are all just bat poop crazy. Grace and Faith are taken to a fancy resort, and they are told that the family who kills Grace will become the new head of the cult, but Grace herself can become the one in charge if she can survive the game.
Comedy Horror Sequel
This is a very, very fun movie, and once again, Grace is having to fight for her life, but she has her sister with her, and their estranged dynamic is a major part of the movie. Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton have great chemistry, and it is a ton of fun to see them work together and fix their troubles.
Just like the first movie, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come has some crazy and over-the-top action scenes and deaths, the movie will make you wince and laugh as it is all going down. There is a hilarious fight scene at a wedding venue that was a massive highlight of the movie for me.
Final Verdict
I think that the supporting cast and the increased stakes of this movie made me like it more than the last one. I guess you could argue that it is more of the same, but I feel that they built on everything that they did in that first movie. If anything, it makes me want them to make a third movie, as I feel that there could be even more interesting lore about Le Bail and the satanic cult that follows him. If you love comedy horror and, more importantly, if you liked the first movie, this is a must-watch.
