Portal 2 is a downloadable arcade and puzzle game produced by the Valve studio. The company is responsible for, among others, such productions as Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Left 4 Dead 2 or Team Fortress 2. The success of the first part of Portal was a surprise. Nobody expected that a minimalist puzzle game could turn out to be a hit. The first Portal game was originally released as part of the OrangeBox package on Steam. Portal 2 was released in 2011.

The Game Plot
The plot of Portal 2 is related to the first part, in which you received a device for creating portals (the portal gun) from the artificial intelligence GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System).
The story of the second part begins in the future after the events of the first part. The destruction of artificial intelligence caused its breakdown into dozens of smaller ones. In the second installment of the title, you get to know one of them. Wheatley, a male artificial intelligence, wants to get out of the Aperture Science laboratory just as badly as you do and thus will help you along the way. It begins its help by awakening you (your name is Chell by the way and your female protagonist who was also the main character from the first Portal game) offering you to join forces in regaining freedom. During the game, it turns out that GlaDOS has not been destroyed after all and wishes to resume its tests known from the original Portal (released in 2007).
The Game Mechanics
The player’s task is to pass a series of tests in which you will have to create portals to progress. The possibilities of using the portal gun portal are incredible. You can create portals in various planes and move this way from any point A to any point B. It seems simple on the surface, however, it is not. Quite often, you will be forced to pause for a moment and think. This is so because about the teleportation alone will often not be enough to succeed. You must also use objects on the map, which are necessary to bypass traps or open doors.
The portals can be created in any plane. Each location is placed inside a cube, in which you can teleport yourself quite freely. What you should take into account during the game is also gravity, which changes in the second portal, depending on where the first portal is located. The right tactic can help you gain speed when entering the second portal.
The main task in the storyline is to get out of the Aperture Science laboratory. The artificial intelligence will try to stop you, closely following your actions over the course of the game. In Portal 2 you will find colored gels that can be used to coat surfaces and change their properties. For example, if you run over the orange gel you will accelerate and you will be able to jump further. The blue gel serves as a springboard for firing yourself or objects much higher, while the white one allows you to turn an ordinary surface into one where you can place portals.
In addition to the single-player campaign, the game also offers a co-op mode in which a pair of players takes on a pair of robots, solving the puzzles created by GLaDOS. In the co-operative mode, puzzles are even more difficult, as each player has a separate pair of portals and they will be used in even more complex configurations.
