Coyote vs. Acme is a movie that I was very excited to see. Not just because I grew up lovincoyg Looney Tunes cartoons and video games as a kid, but also because of the whole mystery behind it! This movie was completed all the way back in 2022. From what we heard from those who had seen test screenings of the movie once it was completed, it was fantastic, and people seemed very excited about it.
Where to Watch Coyote vs. Acme
Coyote vs. Acme was released on August 28, 2026. You willbe able to stream the film on HBO Max in December 2026
The Movie Review
Shelved by WB and Saved by Ketchup Entertainment
Then came WB and some of the strange decisions that they made during this time, such as spending millions of dollars on a Batgirl movie and then canning it. Well, Coyote vs. Acme was actually fully completed, but WB decided to shelve it, and there was a story that it was to get some kind of tax write-off!
There was a lot of buzz online about how good this movie was, and people wanted to see it, and there was a knight in shining armor at Ketchup Entertainment. Much like they did with the previous Looney Tunes movie, The Day the Earth Blew Up, Ketchup Entertainment purchased the rights to the movie and released it to the world, and I am very glad that they did.
A Blend of Live Action and Classic Animation
The whole mixture of live action and animation is something that I always get a kick out of, and in all honesty, it is something we do not get a whole lot of. Disney did it recently with their awesome Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers movie that they did, so I was very excited to see Coyote vs. Acme’s mix of live action and animation and also see if it held up to the hype and the great reviews that I was seeing it get.
Wile E. Coyote Takes Acme to Court
The plot is just a whole lot of fun, and while it has some of that classic Looney Tunes slapstick humor, I was very surprised by just how much heart the movie had. The plot revolves around Wile E. Coyote, fed up with always getting injured by the Acme products he gets to try to catch the Road Runner. After seeing an ad for a law firm that specializes in cartoon violence cases, he decides to try and sue Acme!
Cast, Cameos, and Heartfelt Chemistry
This has him meeting Will Forte’s Kevin Avery. Kevin is not sure of himself at all and always tries to settle, as he is so scared of failure, but Wile E. Coyote rebuffs the deal Acme’s lawyer, John Cena’s Buddy, proposes, and as a result, we are going to court! By the way, the fact that Foghorn Leghorn was the big guy in charge of Acme and the one pulling the strings was something I got a massive kick out of. In addition to the whole court case, there are many other subplots at play here.
There is all this secrecy about what Acme is really doing with their products, and we get many awesome cameos from the likes of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Taz, and my personal favorite from the movie, Tweety, as some kind of bounty hunter! However, at the center of it all is the chemistry between Wile E. and Kevin. Wile E is always trying, even though he always fails, but Kevin is so terrified of failure that he is reluctant to try. The fact that Wile E doesn’t actually talk, but we still get these funny and heartfelt scenes between the two is just so very impressive.
Final Verdict: A Fun Film Worth Owning
Coyote vs. Acme was a movie I was pretty sure that I was going to like, but I ended up having even more fun with this than I thought I would. It is not only funny and has plenty of classic Looney Tunes style slapstick humor, but the movie also has a ton of heart. I for sure will pick this up when it comes out on Blu-Ray, probably right away as it becomes available for pre-order, as I have zero faith in companies making physical media available these days!
