Released in 1990, three years after the fantastic Three Men and a Baby, Three Men and a Little Lady is a fun sequel that has some laughs and a little bit of the spark the first movie has, but it just cannot live up to it. In many ways, this is a textbook example of an unnecessary sequel if I want to be harsh, but there is still fun to be had here.

The Movie Review
A Five-Year Jump and Returning Cast
While the movie came out just three years after the previous one, this does have a little bit of a time jump, as Three Men and a Little Lady is set five years after the events of the last movie, and we have our four main characters from the previous movie back. Tom Selleck and his glorious moustache as Peter, Steve Guttenberg as Michael, Ted Danson, and Nancy Travis as Sylvia. We also have the very talented young Robin Wisemen as our titular Little Lady, Mary. A fun bit of trivia here for you, she only acted for a few years, but one of her credits is on the TV show Thunder in Paradise, which starred Hulk Hogan, another legendary moustache!
The City Dream and a Big Spanner in the Works
The foursome, along with Mary, are living together and having a great time in their new larger home in the city. Peter is still a successful architect, Michael is doing great with his drawing career, Jack is still trying to make it as an actor, and Sylvia has seen her acting career really take off; she is a big deal and one of the most famous actors in the world! In many ways, they are living the dream.
However, there is a big spanner in the works, and that is Edward. Edward is a famous movie director, and he is dating Sylvia, and he plans to marry her and bring her and Mary to live with him in the UK. They do a fantastic job of making you dislike Edward, and he is not too keen on Mary, and he plans on sending her away to a fancy boarding school.
Heading to the UK to Stop the Wedding
Peter and Michael head to the UK as they miss Mary. They find out that Edward plans to ship Mary off to a fancy school and that Edward is pretty much a jerk and using Sylvia! Of course, Sylvia does not believe them at first, even though there is still a bit of a spark between her and Jack.
Lacking the Magic of the Original
Look, this movie is just not as good as the previous one. Sure, the guys, along with Mary, trying to stop the wedding is fun, but while the humor is similar to the first movie. The jerk potential new husband/father is nowhere near as good as the whole mixed up with drug dealers thing that Three Men and a Baby had going on. That is not to say that Three Men and a Little Lady is bad; it just does not quite have that same magic the first movie had.
Ted Danson Steals the Show
Although I will say that Ted Danson comes in like an absolute star and steals the entire movie with what he does at the end. You know, on the whole, I much prefer the first movie, but the Ted Danson at the wedding scene is by far my favorite scene out of the two movies. It is probably my favorite Ted Danson bit from any movie he is in, and if you were to ask me to talk about a Ted Danson role, Jack at the wedding would be the first thing that would come to mind.
Final Verdict: A Fun Double Feature
At the end of the day, you cannot go wrong with watching Three Men and a Bay and then Three Men and a Little Lady as a double feature on Disney Plus. Sure, you will more than likely have way more fun with the worst movie, but for an unnecessary sequel, this is honestly not that bad at all. Although, as of writing this, that rumored Zach Effron-led reboot that Disney was talking about seems to have just vanished, so I have my doubts that it is ever coming.
