OBS Studio, or Open Broadcaster Software Studio as it is truly known as is a fantastic free program for those of you looking to record your own videos. My son has a YouTube channel that he has a lot of fun with and this software was awesome as it made streaming of his computer so much easier.

The Program Review
It is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. The service is free and paid for by various sponsors such as YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook so if they are involved you know this is legit. Once you have downloaded the software, you can get to work right away and it is great how intuitive everything is.
You can make a video that is comprised of many different sources. For example, you can use this to record you drawing something on your PC, but then you can add in some gameplay that you can capture off your Xbox. You can make a video that is made up of many different recordings.
It lets you set up your video in any way that you want. You can decide how to have screen transitions, mix the audio, add in special effects, and much more. I love the way it is all at your fingertips, but you can customize the layout of the software if you wish. We did not, we just kept it as it was and found that everything, we needed was very accessible for us.
The OBS Studio is the kind of software that lets you get very in-depth if you wish. On the flip side of this, you can also keep it simple and have a very professional video to publish too. It has this studio-type thing where you can preview what you have made so that you can tinker with it and make any last changes before you make the video go live.
There is this other really awesome mode that the software has called, Multiview. What is great about Multiview is that you can have multiple scenes on the screen at once. From here, you are then able to make transitions, add stuff, and even cut things that you feel do not need to be there. This is really cool and will make you feel like a real movie editor!
I was hand on heart blown away by this software. If you want some video editing software that is free and has all the features you will ever need, you cannot beat OBS Studio. It is amazing how they have a complete video service here, but at the same time, they have made it so it is very easy to use, even though it is jam-packed with fantastic features.
