Farming Simulator 19 Review
As the name implies, Farming Simulator 19 is the 2019 iteration of the popular titles and features upgrades such as improved graphics with a nod towards greater realism and recreation of the natural landscape as well as the addition of horse, oats, and cotton farming. In another first for the Farming Simulator series, the 2019 edition has John Deere equipment available to use in a branding partnership that is as canny as it is appropriate.
Unveiled at the 2018 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, Farming Simulator 19 was scheduled for release on November 20, 2018, by developer Giants Software and publisher Focus Home Interactive. Sporting environments from Europe and the American continents, Farming Simulator 19 is notable for its diversity of settings and hence the increased amount of player choices available because of it.
Not purely fixated on the farming side of things, Farming Simulator 19 also ups the ante in the business sim side of things, as well as farmers, have to focus on not only successfully growing crops but also turning a profit on them when they finally make it to market.
Played from a third-person perspective, the Farming Simulator games are semi-open world environments that allow players to shape their homestead as they see fit.
The main focus of the game is the career mode and, as the name probably predicts, it involves taking a dilapidated old farm from rustic ruin to commercial plant using nothing but your acumen as a farmer and business owner. Farming Simulator 19’s partnership with manufacturer John Deere takes the available equipment options to entirely new levels and easily places Farming Simulator 19’s total vehicle count well above its predecessors.
Other makers that are featured in the game include Case IH, New Holland, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, Challenger, Valtra, and Krone as well as other companies. Sporting new graphics, animals, environments, and activities over Farming Simulator 17, Farming Simulator 19 is a progressive improvement on a winning formula, tweaking just the right things and adding the appropriate amount of new stuff without overwhelming older fans.
The addition of improved environments, as well as pastures in South America, also make the replayability factor for Farming Simulator 19 really high as players try their hand at different scenarios.
As is typical with the series, it can be expected that developer Giants Software has a slew of downloadable content and expansions planned for Farming Simulator 19 though that has yet to materialize.
Typically Farming Simulator games are on the market for six months or more before they start receiving new content. Usually, these additions include new equipment, crops, horses, activities, and sometimes environments as well, though the sky is the limit on what Giants Software can bring out for its line of farm sim games.
