I had actually heard of this software before, but never really felt it necessary for me to be honest. Well, the word “lite” in the name PDF-XChange Lite Printer actually means that this is a free version of that software. If you use a lot of PDFs and want a way to create them easily and convert other types of files into PDFs, you are going to find this software pretty useful.

The Program Review
So, who exactly would want to use this software? Well, I would say that anyone with a business or someone that has to do presentations for work would find this very useful. My wife is a teacher and uses a lot of PDFs so I know first hand that she is someone who would get a lot of use out of a program like this. Sometimes creating a PDF can be a pain in the butt.
This is especially true if you are trying to take a Word document or something from a PowerPoint and make that a PDF. The PDF-XChange Lite Printer will install on your computer and it will look just like a regular program you would get with a printer. Once you have the program installed you can then take your other kind of document and make that a PDF for printing!
It is very easy to do and this works with all types of Windows dating all the way back to XP… if for some reason you are still using that. Most Windows applications can be used with this. My wife has used Word, Paint, and PowerPoint and had no trouble making a PDF at all with this.
You have a few other neat features that you can do to your PDF. You can add security features to the PDF if you want. You can even add comments such as details like author, what it is about, keywords and so on. I am sure most people will not bother with these, but they are there if you want them.
One thing I know that gets on my wife’s nerves when making a PDF is image quality. You can take an image that you think looks great, add it to your PDF and then there is something off. I never heard any complaints about this as the quality was quite high. So, if you are making a PDF that has a lot of images, you will be happy with the quality.
I have used (well, mainly my wife) many of these PDF software programs lately. I think that the PDF-XChange Lite Printer is a decent piece of software, but in all honesty, I am not sure I would say it is any better than some of the others that are out there. This is a “lite” version after all, but I have seen a few other free PDF programs that offer many more features than this one does.
