ATS is back with its eighth expansion American Truck Simulator – Wyoming. I had a great deal of fun with the last expansion Colorado and now we are hauling loads through the Equality State! Wyoming is a very interesting state and arguably one that has the most natural beauty of any in the USA so on paper, it is a very interesting location.

The Game Review
What really drew me to this expansion perhaps more than any other that ATS has offered so far was the description on Steam. “Cowboys, trains and wide-open natural spaces” is what they used to describe this and that right there sounded very appealing to me. The diversity of what Wyoming offers you are a virtual trucker is pretty amazing.
Wyoming has it all, it really does. You have your large cities, more rural areas, snow covered mountains, and some of the most iconic national parks the USA has to offer such as Yellowstone National Park. As always, ATS has tried to capture what makes this part of the USA special and for the most part, like they usually do, they nail all the key areas that people expect to see.
American Truck Simulator – Wyoming is giving us a very large area to haul our loads around. There are 10 large cities and 14 smaller settlements that the game has to offer. Industries that you will be hauling for include the railyards, farms, coal and soda ash, and many more. ATS always do a great job in making sure you are working for a state’s main industries and this is no different.
While they can never get each and every little detail perfect, they have tried to recreate cities such as Cheyenne, Jackson, and Sheridan to name a few as authentically as possible. You even get some iconic local wildlife such as bison which I got a real kick out of. Hauling livestock to the various auction houses was one of my favorite aspects of the game.
The presentation of American Truck Simulator – Wyoming is very solid. I think that they do a great job of recreating the main parts of each state very well and this is no different. Still, the series has a very signature kind of look to it and as this is at the end of the day an expansion, not much has been done to improve the overall visuals. Thankfully, Wyoming is a very diverse state so it does stand out.
At this point, this is the 10th state that has been added to ATS. You should know what you are getting by this point and if you like the series, you will like this. I am not sure if I would say I like this more or less than what Colorado offered. However, as always for ATS fans, American Truck Simulator – Wyoming like every other expansion that has come before it is worth checking out.
